As part of the Production Processes module, the task was to design a Bluetooth speaker made primarily from plastic.
I developed mound as a modular speaker system consisting of three stackable elements. The modules connect and charge through an integrated induction ring, allowing them to be easily detached and rearranged.
Each module has a distinct role within the sound system. The larger lower unit produces the bass, while the two smaller upper modules handle the midrange and tweeter frequencies. Combined, they form a single speaker with a sculptural appearance; separated, they become independent elements that offer greater flexibility in use.
The project explores how modularity can become an integral part of both the product’s functionality and its visual identity, rather than simply being an added feature.
